Welcome to Week 53 of Toddler Talk Thursday!
** If you want to follow this on twitter – or plan on tweeting your post – please use hashtag: #letstalktoddler **
Toddler Talk Thursday was created as a place for moms and dads of toddlers to come together over a weekly topic and share ideas, go-to toys, or products. It is a great way to meet other parents of toddlers. Each week the topic will be different; we invite you to link up, share your weekly Toddler Talk!!
Each week the hosts will travel around to each blog to see what topic your suggest for the following week. If we choose your topic – you will be our featured blog.
Keep the GREAT suggestions coming. We have an on-going list we will choose from each week. Some topics are ones we have done in the past – but that doesn’t mean we won’t revisit them!!
In order to qualify for this you need to blog about this week’s topic, and follow the hosts. Please do not link up past posts or non-toddler talk posts.
And the end of your post – suggest a topic for next week.
Comments letting us know you are participating are always great too. If we choose your blog, we will link back to your post the following week.
This week’s featured Blog is Lil’ Bit of Us who suggested This Week’s Topic:
Dropping Your Children off at Daycare: Tips and Advice
Did I ever tell you guys about the first time I took Baybah to daycare? I went to the door, handed him over to the daycare provider and started bawling my eyes out. She was so sweet, and told me everything would be okay, and that it would get easier. I could not even imagine, I was just too upset. I started driving to work as tears continued to stream down my face. All of a sudden I realized I was going the wrong way and got even more upset. Trying to get back to where I needed to go I of course ended up in the wrong lane, and had to switch lanes quickly. Then, you guessed, a cop pulled me over. Are you kidding me?! As soon as he walked up to my car started crying even more. Long story short, he let me go and I got to work safely.
That was awful! I did not think I could handle going to work everyday like that. But thankfully, like everyone said, it does get a bit easier each day. Believe me, my heart still breaks everyday, but I know that Baybah is safe and loved when I am away from him. Baybah starting daycare was definitely harder on me than it was on him. He loves it there!
My advice would be to get your child excited about going to daycare. I will say things to Baybah like: Yay, you are going to get to play with your friends! What toys are you going to play with today? On the way there we like to have fun in the car by singing, or I have him point out things he loves like trucks and balloons. We always have fun getting him excited to go. Once we are there I try not to prolong the goodbye. I give him big hugs and kisses, tell him I love him, and that mommy will be back soon. When I pick him up, I will ask him about his day
