The American Cancer Society Fights for More Birthdays

 

The first time I heard the word cancer was when I was in the fourth grade.  One day one of my classmates was in class, the next he was in the hospital.  Not even a month later he passed away and our class attended his funeral.  It was so incredibly sad and hard for all of us to understand what had happened.

Thanks to the American Cancer Society and the research they supported, more children are surviving childhood leukemia every year. My wish is that our children will live in a world where there is a cure for cancer and everyone can celebrate more birthdays.
