My First Week Following Jenny Craig

September 1, 2015 by Lauren 1 Comment

I was provided a free trial of the Jenny Craig program and meals. However, the opinions expressed are entirely my own.  Members following the Jenny Craig program, on average, lose 1-2 lbs. per week.

I have shared in the past a little bit about my struggle with weight and yo-yo dieting.  If you have been there, you know how hard it can be.  That is why I am so excited to be following the Jenny Craig program for the next 8 weeks.  Meal planning has always always been a problem so I love how Jenny Craig does all of that for me and more.

Jenny Craig Moments

Last Thursday I visited my local Jenny Craig for my first consultation and to get my first week of food.   As I walked into the center I was both excited and a little bit nervous.  I was greeted by my consultant and was quickly put ease.  She took me to her office so we could talk about my short and long term weight loss goals and to tell me about the program and their food.

Jenny Craig Meal Plan

She gave me my meal plan for the week and explained that everything is planned out for me each day including breakfast, lunch, dinner, two snacks and even dessert. I love that they do the planning for me so that I do not have to. She also explained that everything is portion controlled and scheduled throughout the day to make sure that I eat every 3-4 hours. Another important thing that she told me about was their Volumetrics approach.  I need to make sure to load up on non-starchy vegetables to give my meals more volume to help me feel full.

Next up my “Before” photo.  I can’t even tell you how excited I am to see my progress and the “After!”

My consultant then went to the back to grab my food.  She came out and shared the items with me and then packed them in grocery bags for me to take home.  The only thing I need to add to my meals is fruit, vegetables, and yogurt.

Jenny Craig Review

I have been on the program for three days so far and have not felt deprived at all.  I have been using my consultants tip about volumizing my food with lots of vegetables to help me feel full.  I have also enjoyed having a sweet treat at the end of the day.  Jenny Craig is all about teaching good habits and portion control, and learning how to enjoy healthier versions of your favorites.
