Well not really the wall, our floor. Our little monkey climbed up to get a sharpie off of the dining room table, and then proceeded to create a drawing all over our tile floor. Luckily I caught him before he drew anywhere else, but the artist and art teacher in me was so excited to see what happened. The marks can be easily removed. I want Baybah to know that he is free to express himself and let his imagination and creativity run wild.
I love how free he is with his marks, and the look on his face while he is drawing and coloring!
One of my favorite quotes is by the artist Pablo Picasso, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” As a parent, I will do everything I can to foster my child’s creativity and self expression. Not just so that he can be an artist when he grows up, but because creativity will help him with anything he decides to do.
I would love to hear how you create with your child!
