It is hard to believe that I first shared this story with you two years ago. For those of you who missed it, here it is.
One of my favorite traditions from my hubbies side of the family comes from his Grandpa Poppy. The night before hubs Birthday, Poppy would call and say, “Goodnight little (whatever age he was at the time) year old.” The next morning, Poppy would call again and say, “Good morning little (whatever age he just turned) year old.” Poppy continued the calls every year, even when hubby was in college, and when we moved away. There was not one birthday he missed. Hubs could not wait for the call each night before his birthday, and then again in the next morning.
Hubs has carried on Poppy’s tradition for Baybah. Tonight we tucked Baybah in, gave him kisses, and then Hubs softly said to him, “Goodnight our little 2 year old.” Tears started streaming down my face thinking how fast Baybah has grown. It seems just like yesterday when we brought Baybah home from the hospital. Tomorrow our little Baybah is going to be 3. We cannot wait to give him kisses in the morning and say, ” Good morning our little 3 year old!” Happy Birthday sweet Baybah!
