It is hard to believe that it is our second year of Back to School. B graduated PreK and is now going to a new school and is in Kindergarten. To help him get ready for his new school we drove by it all summer and talked about how awesome it was going to be to go there and how many amazing new friends he was going to make.
The time finally came for us to take him to his first day of Kinder. As he got ready for school that morning both excitement and a tiny bit of nerves filled the air. He looked so cute with his new uniform, backpack, and lunch bag. Of course I had to take a million pictures to remember that moment forever. My little baby was growing up! When we got to school I walked him to the cafeteria and gave him a big kiss on the cheek and told him to have an amazing day. He grabbed onto my leg hoping none of the other kids would see and told me he did not want me to go. I gave him another kiss and told him he would do great and that he was going to have such a fun day. As I walked to the car I could not help but worry a little, but know it is all part of him growing up and that he will do great.
When he came home from school that day, he could not wait to tell us all about the fun he had and the new friends he made. That was music to this mamas ears. I loved hearing his excitement for his new school, and hope it never fades.
A couple weeks later we got to attend Open House at his school where he proudly showed us around. It was so fun to see him in his new domain.
Making sure he has supplies for school we shop at Staples for the best back to school gear. We were even able to find him a Lego backpack and Lego lunch bag. We were so excited to find these because right now he cannot get enough of Lego’s and does not leave home without them. You can even see one of his creations in the open house pictures above. We were also excited to get a Kindle Fire for the family to share and for B to use educational apps on to help enforce what he is learning at school. I also love using Kindle Free Time so that I can choose what books, apps, games, and videos I want him to have access to.
These back to school memories will be something I will cherish forever.
