Leaping into theaters on Earth Day, 2011, “African Cats” features the real-life love, humor and determination of the kings of the African savanna: Mara, an endearing lion cub who strives to grow up with her mother’s strength, spirit and wisdom; Sita, a fearless cheetah and single mother of five mischievous newborns; and Fang, a proud leader of the pride who must defend his family from a rival lion.
You have to check out the trailer for African Cats, the scenery is breathtaking and the animals are captivating.
African Cats is the third release for Disneynature. Disneynature first released Earth in 2009, and had a record breaking opening for a nature documentary film. Their second release Oceans was the #1 film on opening day in 2010, and had the highest weekend box office gross of all time for a nature film. It is also the third highest grossing nature film in history. I wonder what records African Cats is going to shatter?!
